A local owner had his "gone thru" at a drive axle rebuild shop.  Most
large
cities have one or two.  They charged him around $80 which I think is
really
cheap.  I think they just regreased them and replaced the boots.

I have an axle bearing going bad in my transmission (whines at around
45mph)
and I'm wondering if this could have gone bad because of an unbalanced
axle.
I thought it was wheel bearings at first.
