Well you could just take out the back window and stick it through and put a
little red flag on the back.  Or tie it to the roof along the center line of
the car... 4ft segments would be OK cause I figured I would need to support
it every 4ft anyway and that could hide the cut lines.  But the 9ft section
needs to support a dynamic load and be smooth to prevent anyone from getting
caught, as they walk past...

1/8" sounds like more than enough material on the clutch.  You need to
forget Ford, they can only engineer 1 real car every 20-30 years.  When you
come down I will show you some properly engineered engine parts, Porsche
parts, and the engine my brother is rebuilding.
