Hi Steve
The best way i found was to remove the whole steering column /
steering wheel assembly( its only held up by 2 bolts + electrical
connections.) Pull the 'inner' steering shaft right out and then push
that through the firewall on its own and into the upper u joint, its a
lot easier to locate it, than with the size and weight of the whole
damm thing. When its in and bolted back up with the 'pinch' bolt,
simply slide the rest back over it and bolt it all back to the
underside of the dash.
Let us know how you get on, it is easier to do with a friend to help
you out with it.
Kind Regards
Mike
