[DML] Has anyone ever tinted their tail lights?

I'm planning to tint my tail lights this weekend and was wondering if
anyone has any advice on how to do this.  My plan is to lightly sand
the outside lenses with 400 grit paper, give it two coats of a tint
product, and then a clear coat.

Is there anyone out that that has done this and can give some advice?
