[DML] Re: Delorean Owner

Of the 16 owners I have helped to date only 5 or 6 had K-Jet issues. The others upgraded as an elective procedure. One of them even drove from several states away on his K-Jet to have it replaced in my driveway. One owner had no fuel delivery system whatsoever.

Some owners do not like K-Jet -- period. For those owners getting rid of it is seen as an upgrade, easily worth however much it costs. Some owners upgrade to EFI, and some owners upgrade to carburetion. Either way the end results is the same -- the K-Jet system they don't want is replaced with a fuel delivery system they do want.

Why do you keep trying to bully and cajole owners who don't want K-Jet to keep it? If an owner wants to get rid of K-Jet for any reason -- including simply because it happens to be Wednesday -- that is his business alone. You may not like it, but you do need to eventually accept the simple fact that an owner is free to do whatever he wants with his own car.

That number that John H threw out on K-jet was an upper limit. The thing that irks me the most about all of this is that for any and every problem with the original fuel system your answer is not to fix it but to replace it. Even when it is a small, easily fixable problem.
