Gary, 
That just proves my point of how good the original is. It's not so much the
miles but the years. The parts inside the starter with the dirt, grease and
oil in the worst environment I'm amazed they still work. A new rebuilt unit
( $189.95 ) exchange with all new ( Not nos ) will last another 30+ years.
Will the Chinese do that. 
Based on China reputation I doubt it. If anyone bought the over priced
Chinese starter then I would hold on to the old one or get one of my new
rebuilt units as a spare.

Hi John,
Knock on wood, I can say that I am still running on the original starter
with only 50,000+ miles on the car. I hope that it continues to work for a
long time.
