Re: [DML] Trouble shifting in 1st and 2nd gear



For anyone that has a 5 speed trans, if you ever have problems getting into 1st/2nd or 5th, don't try to force it. If you do this too many times or too hard the first time, you can break the pivot bolt in the shifter levers and it can only be accessed from under the car. 
I know because it happened to me. The mechanics wouldn't listen to me when I told them the shifter was out of adjustment. They went the way of the adjustable clutch link and that did not solve the problem..
