Re: [DML] fuel sending units

Is it a baffle or a sump?

In the original DeLorean design, the return fuel flows into the the
round thingy. I talked with one of the DMC Houston folks that indicated
that the original design allows draining the tank fully and that the
fuel level inside the round thingy can be higher than the outside. So
is the round thingy a baffle (to prevent fuel sloshing) or a sump ( to
provide a reservoir)

I played with the GM design fuel pump & tank level assembly (similar to
the new DMCH design) and it is quite an interesting unit. The fuel
level inside the sump will actually overflow the sump even when the
external level is really low.

centre of the tank?

As such, placement is not that much of an issue.

It works VERY well, and I predict we'll see people replacing working systems just to get the benefits. (Removing all the rubber parts from inside the tank, for one!)
