[DML] Re: Anyone ever convert to CNG?

"Converting", actually you can use both gasoline and LPG or CNG. Most installs allow you to switch "on the fly". The more popular (in this country anyway) is CNG. Very commonly used on fork trucks, especially used indoors. The big problem is finding a place to install the tank. Other considerations, you get less gas mileage on CNG or LPG. It will take a while for you to save on the expense of all of the added equipment. There are not a lot of places that can fill the tank. The motor runs better and a LOT cleaner. No gas gauge. No road tax.

There are two types that they use, CNG & LPG, but the taxi drivers will tell you that the LPG will cause your engine to fail prematurely. It appears to work just as well, though the mileage is not as good as regular gasoline.

It would seem that if these were a REAL answer for switching to a cheaper energy source, they would be flying off the shelves when gasoline prices go up. I guess the biggest problem with conversion would be finding a filling station with CNG.
