[DML] Re: Auto vs Manual

To "answer" David's question, since a similar question came up
at our DMC Club Spring Lunch yesterday, my understanding is that
the vast majority (all but one) of the new remanufactured cars
with automatics were built WITH the Stage II vs. stock engine.

Dave Swingle also mentioned that the vast majority of people
ordering the "remaned" cars "check all the boxes" on the order,
so it leads to a new question...Are the Stage II engine setups
preferred or do the new owners just want "all of the options"?

As for preference, I agree with Jay Leno...the DeLorean can be
a completely different type of car with a manual vs. automatic.

However, if you plan to drive in a lot of parades or you have
to drive in a lot of traffic often, go with the automatic.

Later,
Rich W.

Now I am not sure but it is probably the same cost from DMCH so it doesn't matter anymore if it ever really did. Another thing you can glean from this is that people buying the remaned cars from DMCH are not interested in performance so much as appearances. An interesting question would be "How many of the remaned cars had engine upgrades such as the Stage II?"
