Remember in the US "synthetic" is a marketing term.... it does not have to
actually be man-made.  In Europe that is not the case. It may still be
mineral based.

Castrol GTLMA now has a "new" formulae. On the bottle it now says it's
synthetic. On their website under their "Ask the expert" it says you MUST
use ONLY mineral based brake fluid for Girling brakes. Does anyone have any
information as to if we should continue to use Castrol GTLMA or is there a
different brake fluid we should be using? I just did my brake flush. The
stuff is a lot more yellow then the previous stuff.
