[DML] Re: Can Pep Boys or Goodyear replace DeLorean brakes?

They can probably replace the pads if they can figure out the right ones. They will probably cut the rotors too thin. They will not be able to get calipers or rebuild kits and brake line hoses from their local supplier, and it's quite likely that some of the calipers are sticking/stuck and you have a plugged hose or two.

Shocks are also unique to the car, although there are several options from several vendors.

If this is truly your only option, your best bet would be to have them check out the brakes, tell you what parts it needs, order them yourself and bring the parts in for installation. If they will do that. Some shops will, some won't. You would probably be better with a local mom/pop shop than a chain, more likely to find a competent old-school mechanic sho can do more than pad slaps.

Has anyone on dmcnews tried having their brakes serviced by any such (or similar) service-provider? Are the shocks common components?
