RE: [DML] Wrong engine

Hi Dave,

This is actually typical of how the cars were assembled. It's normal for the
chassis, engine, and frame numbers to vary on each car. My theory is that
early on the managers of factory production decided it wasn't cost effective
to coordinate each chassis, frame and engine number to match.. Whenever
there was a delay they probably just grabbed the next available frame or
engine for the chassis that was being assembled. I have never heard of a
DeLorean with "matching numbers" before. Check your frame tag and you'll
probably find it varies a bit from the other numbers too! Inexplicably the
storage building that was used to house the production records burned down
so we'll never know where all these respective chassis, frame, and engine
numbers reside. It sure is a difficult job being a DeLorean historian!

Here is a note for the DeLorean historians here. I've just pulled my engine
to take care of some oil leaks and some general cleanup and as I was
scrubbing the ID tag on the engine I noticed that DeLorean serial number
002573 has a engine with serial number 002657.
