Re: [DML] Dash replacement

You are going to get to learn a LOT about the dash of you DeLorean. You will need to remove the radio, center air vents, HVAC controls, center console, all dash knee pads, binnacle, glovebox, glovebox door,
speakers, and A pillar trim. There are fasteners under the dash pad (you can see them on your new one) that you need to be able to reach from underneath, and getting the new pad in with the studs hanging below is a bit of a chore. You may need to loosen the vent outlets for the demisters to get the pad in, but make sure you have them in place with the screws started because once you get the pad in place, it is almost impossible to get a driver on the screwheads because of the rake of the windshield.

I took my pad and glovebox lid to an upholstery shop to have them both dyed to match. Years of exposure grayed the glovebox door enough that it was pretty obvious the dash pad had been changed. Check yours out in a couple of different lighting conditions and make a decision.
