[DML] Cruise Control Question

Like many others, I have installed an Audiovox CCS-100 cruise control
recently. I have the dip switch settings set like Ryan Wright
suggests on his great how-to site, except I'm not getting the RPM auto-
shutoff when I depress the clutch with the cruise control turned on.
This feature is supposed to "sense" the sudden increase in RPMs and
turn off the cruise control. Instead, the RPMs shoot through the
roof, and this is obviously a dangerous condition as I don't want to
blow my engine by accidentally shifting gears with the cruise on.

So I present the list with 2 questions: for those of you using this
system, what are you dip switches set at? I have it set on the
DeLorean coil putting out 2000 Pulses Per Minute, but perhaps I should
set the cruise control dip switchs at 1000 PPM and see what happens.
Also, has anyone installed a switch on their clutch pedal to kill a
cruise control when the clutch pedal is depressed? I'd like to do
this without stringing out even more wiring for a relay to do this,
but I'm game to hear anyone's suggestion or see pictures of how they
did this.

Thanks for the help,
Patrick C.
