[DML] Farrar's Distributor Meltdown -- Potential Vacuum Leak / Damaged plugs

The more I think about it, the more a potential vacuum leak eats at me:

Farrar complained in Gettysburg about atypical brake pedal action. I
didn't pursue the issue any further because the little car *WAS*
stopping, and to be quite honest, by that time #2613 had pretty much
worn me out.

A vacuum leak would lead to loss of brake booster, especially as
Farrar's is plumbed.

If Farrar was slowly melting his spark plugs, as I did in 2003, high
voltage ignition would continue to jump the ever widening gap. There
could come a point, however, where there was simply no more center
electrode left. Secondary side of the ignition then would never
discharge on that cylinder.

What are the effects of undischarged secondary voltage, especially at
the 40,000 volt range Farrar runs? Would a meltdown at the distributor
interface be likely?

If gas prices weren't so high, I'd drive to Charlotte this afternoon
to pop his plugs out & investigate. Perhaps Louie is willing to do the
honors. If Farrar's spark plugs are melted, we will have an answer.
