Re: [DML] Re: DOA, and car club politics.

I have never met Ken Baker.

I have corresponded with him on here a few times (maybe 3?) and spoken on the phone with him twice.

The second time was this past Tuesday night... just to see how he was handling the 'grief' he's been getting on the DML!

I find it odd/strange/sad/disheartening,etc. at how a member in good standing of the DML for many years is now being 'raked over the coals' (my words, not his) because of his new position in the DeLorean Owner's Assocation.

Geez folks... Ken is now the president of a car organization. Some of you are reacting like he wants to molest your kids!

Sure the D.O.A. has had issues in the past. Ken is aware of this and wants to take the organization in another direction. How about giving him a chance to do it?

All he's asked is that you CALL HIM so he can discuss it with you. In e-mails, things have a way of getting misinterpreted... and QUICK! In an e-mail, maybe even like this one, every word will be inspected and disected and taken a hundred different ways by a hundred different people with the writer's intent lost as soon as the 'send' button is pressed.

Give the guy a chance. If he's asked you to call him, freaking call him! Hell, use your cell phone and call on the 'free weekends.' But don't pout and whine and act like the guy is trying to avoid answering your questions.

For those of you who would rather not give him a chance or have the stones to call the guy, please check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-fulfilling_prophecy

So let me get this straight...we (as individuals) must contact Ken B. in
order to get answers? Let me me remind you that Ken B. is the one who
started all of this. If HE has something to say, HE can do it right here
right now just like the rest of us.

I see no reason to call someone long distance when we have an open fourm
right here.
