[DML] 2008 Celebration Exotic Car Rallye

At the risk of appearing very proud, I wanted to share this news with
the DeLorean Community so you could be proud with us.
Terry and I were the only DeLorean to participate in the road rallye
event this past weekend at the Celebration Exotic Car Festival.
We were surrounded by Ferraris, Masseratis, Bugattis, Lamborghinis and
every other kind of wild breed.
I can't properly describe the rush of accelerating onto the Florida
Turnpike, seeing State Patrolmen holding back traffic in all directions
-so we could. . . GO FAST!
Most were much faster than us, and though our needle only goes to 85,
we did achieve over 100mph according to our GPS.
Once well out of the city, the directions lead us onto smaller
beautiful country roads and clues were to be found along the route. (So
speed was not the only point to this activity, thank goodness!)
At the half-way rest stop, we all enjoyed wonderful baked sweets, and
Terry and I sat with another couple who asked us the best question of
the week: "So how come you two got to be the ones to drive that car?"
:)
Later, flying down the final stretch of Disney highways like tourists
on crack, the cell phone rings.
The wind-blown voice on the other end screams: "Does that thing have a
turbo in it??!!"
Daniel Deutsch was to be credited with that second-best question of the
week, as he then blew past us in a Lotus?, gripping his cell phone
firmly in the breeze.
:)
In summation, it was a wonderful event, a thrilling first for Terry and
I, and though we were *almost* disqualified for suspicion of using
plutonium. . .
-WE WON 2ND PLACE!
Hip-Hip-Hooray DeLoreans!!!!!!!
