RE: [DML] update on #2613's springs

4" sounds like a lot of drop for the springs. I can't image you have
been driving around like that for very long.

I was told that at one time some poor quality front springs were made
available which lowered the front car about 1.5" whe installed, then
another 1" over the next few weeks, and then they continued to sag
slowly more and more thereafter until they were ripped out and thrown
away.

As a contrast you may want to look into the springs that Ed sells
through DMC Europe. I put min in las year at this time and they still
look and drive great, no added sagging.

Tom

Subject: [DML] update on #2613's springs

On second thought, I want to buy springs -- not swap. When I looked at
some photos of the underside of my car, I realized that the
super-short springs are actually harmful. Since the camber of the car
can't be adjusted, it makes the tires wear on the inside very badly
(even after just a few thousand miles, the inside tread is almost
bald), and I have some badly scraped brackets down there which have
exposes me to rust damage. Not wanting anyone else to deal with these
problems, I think I will simply give the springs to the local shop in
exhange for some labor, and recommend that they not be put on another
DeLorean.

Thanks,
