[DML] Re: automatic in Park [was: Lambda system]

I'm not a *DELOREAN* automatic owner, but:

Automatic transmission pumps place a significant load on an engine
(oftentimes more than an A/C compressor). In theory CIS should
compensate. In actuality yours seems to be acting quite out of spec,
especially since it's happening on a warm engine.

Basically your DeLorean is behaving like an older model carbureted
vehicle with a dead automatic transmission solenoid (would otherwise
press against the throttle linkage when the AT pump was engaged). When
those solenoids die, most owners of such vehicles usually just bump
the idle speed up a bit. Moving the transmission from Park (engaging
the pump) brings it back down.

1,500 RPM seems a tad high, but I'm used to large displacement engines
that only lose a hundred RPM from the AT pump. Does the DeLorean
automatic really place a 600 RPM load on a PRV?
