RE: [DML] Source for Struts

Tom, If you remember back a few years ago Ross Perot said that if the US
approved the NAFTA trading with Mexico we would hear a big whoosh noise as
American jobs left the US.
Well he was right but China got most of the business and as you can see on
TV that American jobs are gone due to the US officials allowing all the
other countries to go after and bastardize our manufacturing jobs. Now were
buying from them and if we cut off China then we would have no products.

What I'm trying to say is that Houston is the ruler / sets the prices on
parts on the DeLorean parts with all of their subsidiaries. The only
exception is what a vendor had before they had to joint the cartel.
If I closed my doors and got out of the DeLorean parts business Houston
would love it and would have a field day on prices. DeLorean owners would
see the parts business go up considerably and a lot of owners now would no
longer be owners. It would really become a Rich mans toy.
I will take the credit of them lowering the prices on parts I sell or you
would be paying almost $175.00 for a fuel pump as only one example. There is
no other reason for the price to be so low. I don't have the overhead.

It looks like bonnet struts and door struts are available...

4 struts from 'Lou' are normally $108 but now $97 after his coupon. (I
don't think I've met Lou.)

4 struts from John Hervey, contributor to this forum, Delorean owner,
known vendor, whose cell phone number is in my phone, $85.

4 Struts from PJ Grady, the last remaining Delorean Dealership, in
business since ??? Roosevelt? Maybe Teddy and certainly Franklin - $100

4 Struts from DMCH/CA/NW/FL/MW (no introduction needed) $100

I really genuinely do appreciate knowing there is another choice for the
parts, information is power... but in this case I've gotta support the
home teams...

This goes to show me that despite nearly having a niche market by the
ball-joints, our vendors are doing a great job of keeping costs fair.

This just came up over on a Lotus forum. It appears to be a place to
order all kinds of struts for ANY car. They have the struts for the
bonnet and the doors for Deloreans. www.autopartsbylou.com/index.php
I can't say if they are any good, just that they have a listing and
the pricing looks good. It would not surprise me if some of the
Delorean vendors get their struts from a place like this.
