[DML] Re: Bolt On Performance -- The REALLY Big Picture

Actually,The Delorean was very well engineered for removing engine
heat from the engine compartment,as the air flows above the roof of
the car (at speed)and over the Louvers,it actually Sucks the engine
heat from the engine compartment at speed,(in a fashion like in part
III of the BTTF Train at speed)problem is at idle or when the car is
not moving the engine heat is stagnant, that is why if you look at a
Lotus Esprit,it HAS a Electric fan that sits on top of the engine
cover to suck the built up heat from the engine compartment,I could
never figure out why Lotus did not do the same on the
Delorean, meaning it is a simple bolt on item,Heck there is no reason
why a couple of aftermarket electric fans(or even one) could not be
bolted on the engine cover,in the same fashion as on a a Esprit,(in
the grill section)to help remove the engine heat in low speed
driving, such as in a parade, when the Louvers do not do much to remove
the engine heat. They would not show from the outside, and would go a
long way in helping to keep things cool in the engine compartment, and
help in keeping the alternator from overheating as you were saying.A
cheap and quick heat solution!!
