[DML] Re: 3M VHB Tape on Rear-View Mirror?

I have a heavy compass mirror in my car as well, and it has been holding
okay.

I used a PLASTIC mirror mounting button from Pep Boys. It is the type
with a bunch of little square holes in it. Then, I used 3M Window Weld
(urethane windshield adhesive) to mount the button to the glass on the
black square. You have to squeeze a bunch through the little square
holes, and overlap the rim of the button. When dry, the excess is
easily trimmed with a razor blade.

It work fine, and in a hard bump, it does simply come off the glass, but
has held fine in normal use.
