RE: [DML] why denote "negative ground" on stickers



The best way to look at "negative ground" labels is that the uninsulated
metal parts and ground wires connected to the battery are connected to the
negative terminal.  
 
There are some positive ground vehicles and equipment, albeit rare.  Mostly
they are very old.
 
The whole car uses the frame, uninsulated side of and electrical part as the
negative or ground side.

Why do the warning stickers on the car say "this car is negative 
ground". On a DC electrical system ground has to be negative doesn't 
it? How could you have a 'positive ground' that doesn't make any sense.
