Re: [DML] Re: Broken torsion bar

Claude,

I knew what you meant the first time and I still feel the same way.? There's plenty of DeLoreans for sale, and I would throw mine in the trash can and buy another if I was faced with hacking it up and putting air doors or anything else like that on it.? Just my opinion, others would see it as a fun challenge.

Never said to use THE Bricklin doors or even the Bricklin
setup..Please get your facts straight..just THE type of system
Bricklins use...which is a *AIR DOOR* system, which is really cooler
than the Delorean setup, since it HAS the BTTF whoosh noise as in the
movie...and you can open and close both doors at the same time or
vise versa,or one up one down etc,and all while sitting in the car
looking cool,or out of the car looking cool... all with the slight
push of a switch ...try doing that with the DMC doors... you can
also attach a remote control and open and close the doors while
standing away from the car(up to 100 feet looking cool)..and NOT just
opening the doors and not just one shot like the Delorean and it's
remote launcher...really really cool to see in action!!
The other option which is very very do-able is the Mclaren FI or
Ferrari Enzo style,Since the Mclaren HAS Gullwing doors, but hindged
slightly different (one hindge is on the roof like the Delorean the
other hindge is at the base of the Windshield cowl)This setup can
EASILY be done on a Delorean and which in fact would look amazing on
a Delorean, this would be for a Delorean that is too far gone to make
orignal, but not a parts car,in the same fashion as what Rich W. did
when he made the Convertible Delorean or the Hover craft Delorean.
Hope this makes you understand what I am talking about.JUST
options...you don't do it to a nice orignal Delorean.
