And check your emergency shut off switch under the dash.

When you first turn the key you should be able to hear the fuel pump (under your spare tire) run for about a second before you start to crank. Turn the key on, but not to start and listen for it.

Before you do anything else re-seat all the plugs under the hatch behind the drivers seat. I had an automatic that would do the same thing and it turned out that one of these plugs had come loose.

I just tried to start my 81 DeLorean (Automatic) that has been in the
garage all winter and it won't kick over. The battery is fully charged
and it acts like it isn't getting any gas. I tried putting a small
amount of gas into the carburetor and it will start only for the few
seconds that the gas ignites then it dies again. I think this is a fuel
pump problem but I wanted to run it past you guys just to make sure I'm
right. Thanks for any help and information you can give me.
