Re: [DML] Preproduction Car In Kentucky?

Time does fly. I remember getting all geeked up about that when it was first posted. The desciption seems interesting, but doesn't totally ad up. the more stylized hood could be just the common lined hood minus the gas flap. Louvers get taken off all the time for one reason or another. Window switches could be taken out to be sold. The only thing that makes it even sound like a pre-production is the window comment. This could have been done by the previous owner, or maybe the car was so full of gunk and sludge all over that it just looked like the windows were different. Remember that this post was 10 years ago. Since then the internet has shown us what all the preproduction/prototype/pilot cars look like. We know every little detail on these cars, so if we saw it today we could tell in about 1 second flat. Back then this information wasn't so commonplace in the general Delorean community.

Just my thought. Lets hope the car is still there and that we can get some pics of it.

Cutting to the chase here, I was thinking back on past DML subjects,
and happened to remember a old story I read here almost 10 years ago
(time flies doesn't it?!). The part about the mushrooms growing in the
engine compartment is what really stuck with me...

I remember this story, but never saw the promised follow-up for
pictures and better description.

It sounds like a pre-production car, rather than a Prototype. The
description of noticably different items are how things like the
ashtray and windows are noticably different, rather than the sharp
lines of the body design. And it does sound like a match to the
pre-production car that Barret-Jackson sold 9 years ago.

Whatever happened to this car? I'm not interested in buying it myself,
as I have too many project cars right now. But I would like to see
someone rescue this car if they had the means. Is Brandon Moody still
around? And did he ever post a follow-up that I somehow missed?
