10440 is going <almost> home!  The high bidder  who  sniped the 
auction is in UK.

Thanks all so much for the input  and advice.  After discussing it 
with my bank, I feel comfortable with a wire transfer. While I was 
emailing with the potential buyer in France I had planned to set up 
an account for the sole purpose of accepting the transfer and my bank 
is happy to do this for me.

I'm all too aware of the  typical scam that requests  a refund to an 
"agent" etc etc, and no, I'm not going to fall for that one - but 
thanks for watching out for me guys.

I especially appreciate the tips on shipping, Dave and Tom.
