[DML] Re: "Fastest" DeLoreans (Marc and Martin)

I don't have the dyno plot (it's been lost by the current
owner/modifier in a series of moves), but here's what he's done:

Pistons from an Eagle Premiere - upped displacement to 3.0L (this was
a lot of work and involved a lot of flycutting to get it to work).
Compression ratio is 9.5:1
No cats
Custom-made headers and mufflers from a turbo kit - and it sounds
phenomenal
Edelbrock high-input air filter
Flywheel lightened by 16 pounds

Engine bay: http://img447.imageshack.us/img447/3536/pc090166re9.jpg

Clutch replaced with a Centerforce because the stock one would just
spin when he ran the nitrous.

Engine was professionally balanced

There's more but that's the important bit.

He's got a monster-sized nitrous oxide tank in there rigged for about
60 extra horsepower. Since we're in southern Florida, he pulled the
defroster switch apart and hooked it up to the tank instead!

At some point after I take posession of it I'm going to run it on a
dyno just to have a sheet to show skeptics. (Unless he finds the
original, that is).

He hasn't mentioned anything about replacing the cams, which is why I
perked up at the mention of new ones - the prospect of more power is
always a fun one. Granted that I haven't even driven it yet and won't
be able to afford the time or money to do anything else to it.. but I
like to know what's possible.
