[DML] Re: Seeking DeLorean $10,000 range

I can relate to this topic; I wanted a DeLorean since I was 4 and saw
one at a Bigfoot show. :) Got my D when I was 24. I still question the
decision now and then, but I love the car. Still, it's *just a car*
and as with any car, it's the prudent thing to think before you throw
around a lot of money. (Esp. when dealing with a 24-25 year old car
like the D as most of us know!) I got mine for about 9.5K. I've been
putting parts/money into it ever since. Rough ballpark ~14.5K "in the
hole" now. Although driveable, it's kind of like having a kid. Trust
me, drive a piece of junk you can bash around and afford stuff for
until you're financially sure of yourself. DeLoreans aren't the most
difficult things to take care of, but not the easiest. And I am no
mechanic, per se! Hindsight is always 20/20 IMHO. "I'm sure in 2015
[DeLorean parts] will be available at every corner gas station!" -Doc
paraphrase there hehe j/k. I honestly miss my old 82' Datsun Maxima,
though. *sniff* Best of luck to you and as the band Kick Axe says,
"Welcome to the Club!"
Best regards,
