[DML] Re: Experience of head gaskets leaking oil?

In that area the sources for an oil are:
The "O" ring behind the cover under the idler pulley
Under the intake manifold at the bottom of one of the deep holes the
top of the block could have corroded to the point that the oil leaks
out. The cover is easy to fix. To verify a leak under the intake
manifold and to fix it will require removal of the intake manifold and
most of the air induction and fuel system. If you do remove everything
on top consider doing a Master Water Pump kit and a full tune-up too.
If the block is corroded some people have had success with epoxying in
a piece of aluminum to seal up the block. Try to keep any dirt from
getting into the motor as you work and change the oil and filter after
you finish. A leaking head gasket does not usually cause this but I
suppose it is possible. You will know when you remove the intake manifold.
