Ok You win :-) Actually I -was- lucky because the repair was relatively 
simple and I had a good ally welder local to me. In all the time I've 
been working on DeLoreans for a living (3 years now) I have heard of two 
others in this country. One was the original transmission in what is now 
the Explodaview car (which got a new transmission) - that transmission 
lives on in twin turbo #2727 which was an auto, and is now a 5-speed, 
rebuilt using the casing from a Renault 30 transmission. The other was a 
customer who simply mailed a photo and asked what had happened.
