I don't know where/what photo you are talking about the shows a broken
one - can you email tsend me the URL for it?

I understand what you are saying, but I have seen them ruster/broken
in both places you are talking about. I'm not sure that I agree that a
break in one place in OK to repair with a weld more than the other.

I've been in touch with the two men who were in charge of the NHTSA
air bag and crash tests with the two DeLoreans back in 1981 for an
article I am writing for "deloreans" magazine. I'll see if I can get a
hold of them again and see if they want to offer their opinion, which
I certainly think is more valuable than anyone who has commented in
this thread, my own included.
