[DML] Expected travel distance without alternator

Hi guys,

It looks like my alternator croaked on my way to work today and my
battery light came on with expected lower voltage reading. I need to
get my car home in order to service it and I'm trying to gauge my odds
of driving it home.

What is a ballpark expected distance/time I should count on getting
out of my car running without a working alternator but with a good
battery? I have a 35 minute drive covering 20 miles. My gut feel is
that I should be able to drive it home, but if I'm way off, I'd rather
know beforehand so I don't end up along the road somewhere.
