Actually the "Directory" process feeds into the VIN Chron process. 
Although they are independent efforts, data submitted to the 
directory will make it into the VIN analysis, the other way around 
may or may not (some folks don't mind being "analyzed" but don't want 
their names in the listing). 

Our biggest current challenge is keeping up with cars that change 
hands, since sellers don't usually bother to update the process. 
We're working on that one. . . . 

Ken Montgomery is the keeper of the Directory, and Knut Grimsrud is 
the keeper of the VIN Chron Analysis. It's best to submit your 
updates via the site mentioned.
