Bruce, That's a great idea as well as sweating on the starter ring. Lot's of
folks don't think of sweating on parts. I also do that to get pistons out of
the caliper. Drop an ice cube into the piston after the caliper was heated
up.

What I've done when a press isn't available is to put the bearing in the
freezer for an hour and then warm, NOT OVERHEAT, the hub with a propane
torch and quickly install the frozen bearing. Sounds a bit hokey but it
works.
