According to the concourse manual (from 
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/millennium-concours):
VINs 500 - 3200 had the lines and the gas flap, 3201 - 7199 had just the 
groves and and CD or DD VIN (basically all 82 and 83 cars) should have 
the flat hood.
