It has never died at idle but most of the time it cant find a steady idle. It will drop to 550 appx and jump to 1200 to keep the engine from turning off and then it will slowly correct itself and jump from say 600-900 and keep jumping between those numbers. But i will try the 1/8 turn and see if that helps. thanks

1/8th turn. The air flow meter deflection plate may no be rising the control
plunger high enough to pass fuel to the injectors. 
Does the car ever die at Idle or when you let off the gas going to a light.
