[DML] Re: One more question (A/C fans cycle)

Hi

If there is too much freon in the system the compressor will not cycle and
you will have poor performance from the A/C. It will not get cold enough.
The question is if it's the cooling fans that do not cycle or if it is the
compressor. Check to see if the compressor will cycle. Some people make an
"improvement" (completely unnecessary) to have the cooling fans run all the
time with the A/C on but the compressor will still cycle as usual. If you
notice that the compressor is on all the time you will need to check the
pressures in the system before you start replacing parts.
NO, the freon is not used up in the system. The amount of it is constant
unless there is a leak and you start loosing it. If there is a leak the
compressor will start to cycle faster and faster and will eventually stop
all together when there is too little freon in the system.

Have someone check the low and high side pressures at the compressor. If the
low side goes below 25PSI and the compressor doesn't cycle you can suspect
the switch.

Good luck
