Re: [DML] LEDs in Dome Lights--Do I need that white relay?

Don't worry, you won't damage anything by removing the white module. When
the doors are closed, the ground is cut to the lights. The white module
would normally provide a temporary ground that allows the lights to stay on
briefly. Unfortunately for you, the 1970's technology in the white module
wasn't designed for LEDs. As you noticed, once removed the lights will turn
off immediately when the doors are closed as they don't have that temporary
ground.
