RE: [DML] Broken Exhaust Manifold Stud NIGHTMARE! Please Help ...

It would if you use thread SEALANT (not locktite) on the stud. Many water
pump bolts on many models go right into the jacket. What I don't know is if
thread sealant would withstand the heat of the head in the vicinity of the
exhaust ports. Someone with more experience may be able to tell us that.

BTW if you find a well-equipped automotive machine shop or engine rebuilder
in your area there are special spark-discharge machines known as
disintegrators that will chew that stud right out of that hole for you. You
might make a few calls to find a shop in your area that has one.

lets say you did drill into the water jacket, wouldn't the new stud plug it
back
up?????

the
jacket, it would pour our right away. If
you didn't drill a gusher, you should be ok.
