Please note that while the A/C belt is indeed optional, the alternator
belt is not. Without it, the water pump will not spin. Car can run for
quite a long time without the alternator, but not without the water pump.

FWIW: I drove my DeLo from its point of purchase in Philadelphia to
Washington DC for initial triage.
