Re: [DML] The Golden DeLorean

Murray,
I'm sure it was the same car. I was mistaken as it was the passanger door (not driver) that had the inferior plating job. He would have parted with the car for ~$60k. I tried to determine what it would take to get the door redone but the risk turned me off. I have seen many cars with their trim gold plated (older Caddy's) and they tend to not stand up very well. The trim you see around that looks gold plated is really TiN plated and MUCH more durable and attractive. I could just see myself making myself sick trying to keep the gold up and risking going thru it and having a little stainless start to show thru. I am very happy with the solid stainless, thank you very much.

Hi Don, This is interesting.....sounds like the same guy I talked to and
wondering if the story was the same and if the price he asked for it was the
same....HE asked 75K. Of course NOW it is up to a quarter mil or more I
guess! It would be interesting to see a chronological history of the car's
owners and their stories as to reasons they purchased it and sold it and
when!!
