Pretty much all I can do is verify continuity, which is good on both
cables. I don't have a piece of test equipment I could use to test any
significant current. I can test current with the car off, and it seems
perfectly reasonable (about 30 mA).

Besides cleaning up all the grounds, I've cleaned all the major positive
connections (battery, alternator, starter) and verified good continuity
(but again, can't test major current flow).
