the blower motor is rusting inside.
Drop the puppy (five screws I think) and clean it out, oil it up. Pretty
easy job.
A bad one draws more current than it should need to.
Also make sure the drain is working.
They do eventually die from wear and rust, then go visit your friendly
neighborhood DMC part dealer online and get one in a few days for fairly
cheap.

I get the same sound. It seems like the blower motor makes a groan upon
startup but is fine later. I am not going to fix it until it fails.
