Hard start when cold

Hi, I own DeLorean DMC-12 VIN 5898, I bought her on July 25th of
2001. Since in my ownership I have had all kinds of problems. finally
in from mid March to late May the car ran perfect, no problems, then
my AC belt froze. After all that was fixed I found my lower pick up
hose literally fell apart in my gas tank. Then I began to have cold
start problems. Currently I have the fuel distributor being rebuilt
by a well known and very highly mechanic of the area in which I live.
He is very experienced with the bosch K injection, and well the
DeLorean altogether. Now this car has had many surprises, most common
problems I have usually turn out to be something either
Very minor or a lot larger.
Now the parts I can recall that I replaced has been,
Fuel pump, accumulator, thermo time switch, all fuel lines that were
bad, warm up regulator, pressure regulator, a full tune up, new
brakes, new slide quadrant, new Ac wheel, all new belts, and many
more parts. But although my mechanic and I are very much hoping the
distributor is bad, and that's it I just want to know if anyone else
may have some ideas. The car simply takes about 6 times to start
cold. after its going the idle takes about a min or so to smooth out,
then you can drive without any other problems, until you hit traffic
then the car attempts to over heat, so far this only occurred 3
times, and all times it was near the shop or my home, so it hasn't,
yet. I looked at many tech tips, but none had solved my problem. So
from any DeLorean past or current owners, if this same situation
happened did it turn out to be just the distributor????
