I was taught, and always remember this simple rule:

"Positive-to-Positive, Negative to Ground."

So, in two "normal" cars, jump the positive battery terminal (good car) to
positive battery terminal (dead car), negative battery terminal (good car)
to any good engine or frame ground on the dead car. Of course, in the
Delorean, there is no reason you can't use the posts available in the engine
compartment if it is either the good or dead car.
