The Resurrection of Vixen continues...

Hi All,

Well, the engine is just about done. My last chore is to install the
oil return lines for the turbos. I had to drill through the engine
block in two places to install the adapters. That's not an easy task.
Sure, drilling through the aluminum is no problem, but approaching an
engine you've spent the last three months building with a huge drill bit
is a bit disconcerting. So... with hesitant hands I drilled the
required holes, only to find out that they were way too large. It seems
that there is a slight difference between the 'old' twin turbo kit and
the 'new' style couplings. Oh well. I'll figure something out to seal
the adpaters in place.

A couple of questions for y'all...

1) What is the thickness of the material on a new Centerforce Dual
Friction clutch friction plate? On the used one I bought, it has about
1/8" of surface between the face of the material and the bonding
rivets. Not having worked with manual trans's before, I'm not sure how
thick it should be to begin with. 1/8" seems a bit thin to me...

2) Has anyone ever hooked up a "Turbo Saver" preoiler unit? I don't
have the instructions for the wiring...

3) Is there a difference between the Volvo PRV oil pan, and the D? I'm
assuming there is -- the gasket I got seems way wrong...

That's about it. Things are moving along nicely. =)

Oh, and almost forgot... The website is updated through week 21.
