Dave, you said it, but many people seem to forget it when it comes time to
purchase that "newest - latest - biggest - badest - fastest " whatever it is
that someone has just developed. It costs money to do R&D stuff, sometimes
BIG money. Just ask Stephen Wynne or Rob Grady. And unfortunately with the
Delorean, there is a very limited market in which to try and recoup that R&D
investment.
Many "new" items are developed out of necessity, because the original parts
are no longer available. Either reproductions are made or upgraded parts are
produced, but normally for a market that already exists ( someone has to be
buying this stuff if the existing supply is all gone ). A lot of the other
stuff is upgrade/changes or performance enhancement type products which are
developed because someone wants to be faster or louder or lower or whatever
..... just different. This is the stuff which really has no immediate market,
and many times when it's developed it's not really developed for a market as
such but for a specific person who just "has to have it". These are the
people who I really enjoy, and we seem to see a lot of them within the
Delorean community. They are willing to achieve an end result without trying
to justify the expense to achieve it. All that matters is the end result.

I guess it all comes down to, you just have to decide if you want it bad
enough !! I say Go for it !!! You'll be happy when you achieve the end
result.
