We are always open to constructive ways in which to improve the DML and
welcome comments such as those shared by Clark. However, some of the value
in the list comes from the ability for prospective owners to get some of
their questions/concerns addressed in preparation for a potential purchase
(I think Clark eludes to this in his message as well), so limiting postings
to owners only does not at first glance seem to be a particularly attractive
solution.

If the real issue is with the number of postings regarding toys, video
games, etc, there are much simpler and direct ways to handle that problem. I
am personally making a concerted effort already to reduce off-topic
postings, and I expect you'll increasingly see the same from the rest of the
moderating team as we learn from our efforts and gain some more experience.
